We were the lucky ones who found Janice and asked her to be our doula! It’s been 21 years since she helped us bring our son, John into the world. I know I’m speaking for my husband as well when I say that we could never truly express in words what Janice did for us while I was pregnant and through the entire birth process (not leaving us ONCE while in the hospital). Janice was the first person that made me feel heard- answering every one of my hundreds of questions. I was not a confident mom to be. I didn’t have many role models growing up and the ones I had were quite negative. To be honest, the whole experience scared me to death. But that all changed after we found Janice. The amount of support and education we received from her was more than I ever got anywhere else; including my mid wife and OB/GYN office. She truly loves what she does and it shines through in her calm, caring and compassionate demeanor. A few years ago, we reconnected on social media and I was able to tell her (and do every chance I get) how much of a difference she made in our pregnancy, birth and after he was born; teaching me how to breastfeed. Jeff and I could never thank her enough. Our son has heard so many stories of his birth and they always include Janice! Janice’s knowledge and years of experience makes her the best in the business! I got to work with Janice briefly as a labor and delivery nurse and she was always fantastic with her patients. Her knowledge makes her prepared for any situation yet she always has a holistic gentle approach. The hospital I had come from had a robust midwifery practice so I was very familiar with natural labor. Surprisingly, despite there being no midwives in the hospital I worked with Janice at, she was using many of the same techniques I had learned from previously working with midwives. Janice is passionate about what she does and you can trust you are in good hands when in her care. She is very knowledgeable about breastfeeding and has many years of experience helping new moms get through those first few days which can sometimes be challenging. I have no doubt she will go above and beyond for you when it comes to the birth of your precious new baby.

If you have the chance to attend childbirth with Janice, you will quickly learn that her sense of humor mixed with her incredible amount of knowledge are the perfect recipe. Janice left no stone unturned and explained every scenario possible. Our daughter, Maggie is now five months old, and we still find ourselves asking, “what would Janice tell us to do?”

Janice is an amazing teacher! Her experience as a doula and nurse gives her a unique perspective on labor and birth that you would be hard pressed to find in most hospitals. Having her as a teacher eased a lot of my concerns about having my first baby and gave me confidence that I can have the birth experience I want. My husband and I enjoyed attending all classes and actually looked forward to learning from her each week! She adds a good amount of humor as well, making you feel much more comfortable in the group setting. We couldn’t have asked for a better teacher! Thank you for all that you do!

10/10 would recommend.As a first time Dad, I was nervous and excited to bring a child into the world, but I didn't know the first thing about babies (other than that they can be loud and messy lol).Janice was a phenomenal teacher. I couldn't have asked for a better person to help me prepare for the next chapter of my life. Not only is Janice highly skilled and knowledgeable, but she made these classes more fun and engaging than I ever thought they could have been. When my wife and I signed up for these classes I never would have expected that it would become a highlight of our week, but it has been something we both eagerly looked forward to.I am so grateful that we enrolled in these classes, and the online setting made it so convenient. It was easy to fit these classes into our busy schedule, and the information offered in them is invaluable. I think this class really prepared us for our hospital birth. Janice had a very practical approach to teaching and gave good information, always supporting both sides of a topic. She offered science based information and also real life anecdotes that were easy to relate to and fascinating from a educational perspective. Would recommend this class to first time parents.

Janice is amazing! Her birthing classes are comprehensive, covering in appropriate detail the progression of stages of labor, delivery, and the first few hours postpartum. It's clear that Janice is very experienced and knowledgeable in these areas, and she delivers content with the perfect balance of transparency, humor, and compassion. I left Janice's class feeling open-minded and prepared for the variability of birthing experiences; I was so grateful for this information during labor and delivery; I found a great deal of comfort in attaching unexpected experiences and decisions to things I'd remembered Janice discussing.
